Show and Tell
We will be having Show and Tell every Wednesday morning beginning. Each month we will send home what the theme will be. You may want to post it on frig, bathroom mirror or calendar. In order for all to enjoy our Show and Tell time we ask each child to participate, to not bring anything of great value, and that they choose it themselves (once you have explained the theme).
In an effort to make Show and Tell work for the kids, for Ms.Teresa, me and for you busy parents, I have picked Wednesday for the activity and scheduled it as part of our Rug Time. Below you will find the benefits of Show & Tell and the benefit of introducing science into our Rug Time.
So Please don’t stress over this….Keep it Simple and Fun
The Benefits of Show & Tell:
1. Speaking in front of others
2. Fostering their imaginations and communication skills
3. Interpersonal skills in talking to people generally and sharing a bit about
themselves
4. Contributes to building self-confidence
5. Active involvement in things that interest them
6. Not only talking about whatever they show, but handling questions from
others
7. Sometimes just creating a bit of fun for them and sparking interests other
people.
Best time to do it is when they are young. Even the shyest kids seem a little less inhibited when young.
Benefits Gained from Introducing Science and Math Concepts
1. It becomes a natural part of a child's vocabulary.
2. Vocabulary and cognitive process are developed as a child builds skills in
Observation, Communication, Comparisons, Organizing and Applying.
