Ms. Robin’s Playhouse Policies and Procedures
Objective:
To provide a secure, caring, fun and educational environment for your child, during your working hours.
Procedures:
Application for enrollment,
Medical Records (with blue slip attached)
Authorization for emergency medical care
Parent Agreement
All forms are subject to a yearly renewal and must be kept up to date.
Policies:
An afternoon quiet time will be observed between 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM. So that the children can get their rest and staff can complete prep work. Your child will be required to rest quietly or sleep at this time. If you come during this time, please knock instead of ringing the door bell, or just come on in. Please note I have an “Open Door Policy”. I encourage parents to drop in at anytime. However please understand I will not have an hour to set and chit chat. Even though the overall program is “child driven” I feel schedule and consistency is very important in maintaining order and security for each child. If you have a deep concern or issues we can always schedule a more quit time to sat and discuss/brainstorm your concerns
If staff does not feel they are meeting the needs of the child or the child does not fit in with the other children. The Playhouse reserves the right to drop any child from the program with a five day notice to parents.
The Curriculum utilized by the Playhouse is a combination of Educational and Christian material, to be enhanced by A-Beka an Macmillan.
Hours of Operation: 6am to 5:30pm
Payment for Child Care:
Payment is paid on a pre-payment basis. Payment is to be made at your designated drop off time every Monday. If payment is not received at that time, your child’s spot will not be available. (Unless prior arrangements have been made). Overtime fee will be $5.00 for the first 5 minute of overtime and $2.00 for each additional 5 minutes. This is to be paid at time of pickup. Payment for week is $115.
Arrival and Departure:
If your child will not be arriving late, I would appreciate a phone call by 8:00 am. This is to be sure we don't miss each other. Your child must be delivered into the hands of the care provider. Your child can not come in alone. The home care center cannot be responsible for the child’s safety if this policy is not adhered to. A child will not be picked up without the care provider’s knowledge. Children cannot go out to play in the yard or go to the car without their parent or authorized person going with them.
Those who bring older children with them for drop off or pick up are asked to keep them with you at all times. A child cannot be released to an unauthorized person unless parents make arrangements in advance. In the event of a child custody disagreement I will need current court papers showing who has full custody of the child.
Absences:
Payment is due for the time block you have agreed to use. You must pay for your contracted hours; this ensures your Childs enrollment block.
I myself will give you plenty of notice if there are times when I know that I will be unable to open my home for care, so other arrangements can be made. Generally this has not posed a problem in the past, due to the fact that I have a standby substitute who is a certified childcare provider.
Holidays/Vacations:
The Home Care Center will take the following days as Holidays with pay, when they fall on a weekday:
New Years Day
Good Friday
Memorial Day
July 4th
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following
Christmas Eves and Christmas Day
There will be 4 days set aside for training
Vacation for the Home Care Center will be one week which will be announced in advance.
Health and Medical Information:
Your child’s medical exam and immunization record must be kept current and provided to the Home Care Center.
If your child becomes sick while at the Home Care Center, you will be notify to pick them up, and please do so as soon as possible. DHR requires sick children to be isolated from the other children, and to not allow sick children into the Home Care Center.
When your child is sick, throwing-up, fever of 100 plus, chicken pox, unexplained rash etc... They can not be brought to the Home Care Center. Per DHR, they must be fever or illness free for a full 24 hours before returning to care. If your child is sick through the night, the child cannot be brought to the Home Care Center.
Contagious disease must be reported to the center immediately. A doctor’s release is required to return to the Home Care Center for absence due to a contagious disease. State regulations states that prescription medications or aspirin shall not be given to a child, except as authorized by a licensed Physician, and with a written daily request from the parent or guardian. Non-prescription medication may be given to a child only with a written daily request from the parent or guardian. The medication should be in the original containers, with your child's name and current exp. date. You can request your pharmacy split it into two containers, one for home and one for you to transport to daycare. I cannot keep your child’s medication here.
Clothing:
Children should wear weather appropriate clothing. Please bring extra outfit. Please note we have a sandbox and dirt pile as well as water play (weather permitting). We allow the children to direct their own play meaning they can get as dirty as they want.
Please save those cute little outfits for Church. If you are going to be making stops on the way home, just let us know and we will make sure they are clean and fresh for you.
Home and Childcare Cooperation:
Toys are provided. Children should not bring guns, sharp objects, mouth toys, or very small toys to the Home Care Center. Security toys are permitted and will be made available at rest time.
We will use discipline in compliance with the parent's wish and DHR regulations. I do not feel harsh punishment is necessary. I use time out (one minute for each year of the child) and positive re-enforcement as more effective behavior management. I feel every child wants to please so when they are not exhibiting pleasing behaviors they are trying to tell us something. It is up to us, as adults, to figure out what that is.
Emergency Plan:
Parents will be called at once. Parents must sign an emergency medical release form. In the event of a medical emergency concerning your child, we will make every effort to contact you. In case you’re not able to be reached, I must have these signed and preferably notarized, and kept on file in order to get medical care for your child. State regulations does not allow provider to provide emergency transportation. Parents are responsible for any cost incurred in the event medical assistance is deemed necessary.
I acknowledge that I have received a copy of the enrollment contract.
I have read it and agree to its conditions.
